Welcome to Parkview Elementary School: April 2019

Community Meeting

We gathered for our monthly meeting on Friday. We discussed April's trait of COOPERATION as well as May's trait of CITIZENSHIP. Our preschoolers shared some songs and showed us how hard they've been working! First grade as a whole won the Box Tops contest with a total of 850 box tops over the last 2 months and Mrs. Resca's class took home the trophy for the second consecutive month for having the most box tops as a class! The biggest surprise was a visit from KO the mascot for the Brockton Rox who helped to kick off this year's One Book, One School program!

Day of Kind-NESS

Our OA seniors spent the day on Thursday completing community service around town in honor of Devin Ness, an OA student who passed away in 2013. Students that came to Parkview helped prepare for the PMC by stuffing rider bags and spreading mulch in all our flower beds! Thank you OA for your hard work!

One Book, One School

The World According to Humphrey was such a big hit with students last year, that we decided to read ANOTHER Humphrey book. To go along with our kindness theme, we will be reading Friendship According to Humphrey. Please be sure to see the handouts that came home with the book on Friday. Please enjoy reading this book as a family and follow this timeline to be sure your child(ren) are prepared for their in-school Book Clubs.

Complete Chapters 5-8 by May 10
Complete Chapters 9-12 by May 17
Complete the book by May 24

PMC Kids Ride

What an AWESOME day (despite the weather)! Congratulations to the many riders who participated as well as the MANY volunteers and sponsors that made this event so successful! A fun time was had by all and I was awed and moved with this being my first Easton PMC Ride! Way to go everyone!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Close to 500 Easton residents attended today's Red Sox game. While the Sox didn't win, everyone who went had a great time! Thanks to the PTO for organizing such a fun family day!
