Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful!
The cold is finally upon us! We will continue to go outside as much as possible for recess. Students will have outdoor recess as long at the temperature is 20 degrees or higher. Please remember to send students to school with a warm jacket, a hat, and a pair of gloves or mittens.

Food Drive Continues
Our Thanksgiving Food Drive continues this week. Please continue to send in items for the Easton Food Pantry through Friday. Students will be loading the truck with all the food we collect!

Scholastic Book
The Scholastic Book Fair will be at Parkview December 2nd through December 6th. Each classroom will get a 30 minute block of time to visit the book fair (see your child's book fair time below). Students can either purchase books or create a wish list during their classroom visit. Students can buy books during their classroom visit if they have cash, check or E-Wallet. Checks should be made out to: Parkview PTA. Please write the maximum your child is allowed to spend in the memo line of your check. We will send home a receipt with the check # and amount. Parent volunteers will be available to assist your child with selection and payment.

The book fair will be open during parent-teacher conferences if you would like to shop as well. In addition to school hours, the book fair will be open Wednesday, 12/4 from 6-7:30PM and Thursday, 12/5 from 1-3PM & 5-8 PM. On Wednesday evening there will also be a read along for the children beginning at 6:30 with Mr. Cederbaum.

If you are interested in purchasing books online, you can visit Parkview's Book Fair webpage. The online sale runs from Thursday, 11/21 to Wednesday 12/4. Books will be sent to the school after the Book Fair is over. Visit http://www.scholastic.com/bf/parkviewelementaryschool46 for our school's sale information. There is also a Scholastic Book Fair app that you can use to purchase books for your child. You are able to scan the book directly from the flyer that is sent home. See details inside the flyer for more information! It is a very convenient tool to use so make sure and check it out!

E-WALLET will be available again this year. You can begin set up of the E-Wallet beginning November 12th!!

We are looking for volunteers to help during all open hours. If you've never done it before, don't worry! You'll have an experienced partner to get you started! Please sign up using https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080B44AFAA2BA0F85-book or email Rachel Kelley at rammack18@gmail.com.

Raising Multicultural Kids
Raising Multicultural Kids (RMK) is an Easton based non-profit focused on providing children with a multicultural education to help students become racially and culturally competent and acquire the ability to navigate and celebrate different cultures with ease.  A multicultural education helps students develop the skills necessary to identify and discuss racism, and can inspire them to become an ally in the fight against injustice.  Studies indicate that a multicultural mindset also makes people more open-minded and flexible, and enhances their creativity and problem-solving skills.  The ability to work with and understand different cultures is becoming more necessary for employment as the workforce grows more diverse and the marketplace more global.  RMK’s goal is to provide all of our kids with the skills necessary to become successful global citizens.  If you’re interested in learning more, please attending one our meetings or check us out at www.raisingmulticulturalkids.com or Facebook@RMKeaston.
