Welcome to the 2019 - 2020 School Year!
It seems like we were just waving good bye to students in June, and here we are! I'm so excited to begin another great year with my Pandas! Our theme this year is Reading is an Adventure! We will be focusing our year on ALL things literacy!
I will be posting on this blog weekly. It's a great way to see what our Pandas are up to throughout the week. It will also include important dates, school updates, and information from the PTA.

Our Parkview Shirt
Thanks to the PTA, every student will receive a tee shirt with this year's theme on it. We are finalizing tee shirt and ink color, but the design is below. Be on the lookout for an order form coming home soon!
Ice Cream Social!
We kicked off the school year with a very successful Ice Cream Social. Thank you to Bourne's Auto for sponsoring this event once again this year. A big thanks to all the PTA and volunteers who helped to make this such a fun event!
All Smiles!
Our Pandas bounded off the buses full of smiles on the first day! We can't wait to welcome our Kindergarten and Preschool Pandas next week!
Birthday Surprises!
As part of our Reading theme, students will now receive a special treat on their birthdays! Each student will receive a bookmark and choose a Birthday Book! Cole was the first Panda of the year to pick a book!
Gearing up for Kindergarten!
It was a pleasure speaking with all of our Kindergarten parents on Thursday night and welcoming them into our amazing community! On Friday our Kindergarten Pandas all came to meet their teachers and check out their new classrooms! We all had a great time!
Walk This Way!
The Parkview Walking Club has been revived and is off to an INCREDIBLE start! Thanks to our friends at DPW, a brand new 0.1 mile track has been painted on our playground! Each student received a necklace and will accumulate rewards for the miles they walk. In our first two days, our Pandas walked a total of 154.1 miles! AMAZING!! I will continue to keep you updated on their progress throughout the year! Keep up the great work Pandas!
Settling in!
I made my way around the building and found happy students around every corner! The school year is off to a great start!
School Building Project
We are in the midst of a building project with MSBA. We are looking to build a combined PreK-2 school on the Parkview site. We have some very important votes coming up and hope to see you there.

November 5 - Town Election Day - Oliver Ames High School

PTA Updates
Our Direct Giving campaign is underway! Help us raise $8,000 by Family Fun Day on October 20. If we meet our goal, Mr. C. will be in the dunk tank at Family Fun Day! We are off to a great start with $1,500! Checks and cash are accepted, and our Venmo account is another easy way to submit your Direct Giving contribution or annual PTA dues.

Reading is an ADVENTURE!
We have numerous reading initiatives taking place this year! Currently, students can Dive Into A Good Book in our lobby. These books are for students to take with no strings attached. (hopefully, once they read them, they will want to share them with others and bring them back to school). We also have a Book Swap corner where students can bring a book from home, and swap it with one here at school! I want to see students read as many different books as possible. To make this idea more tangible, we'll be tracking all of the different stories that we read as a community of learners and post them on the wall! I can't wait to see our total!
