Five Frames in Kindergarten!
Mrs. Dever-David's class showed off their smarts using five frames this week! They showed their knowledge of the number 5 by using their fingers, their voices, and unifix cubes! Keep up the great work boys and girls!

PAWS-itive Referrals
The PAWS-itive referral wall continues to grow! We added more students this week that were helping their classmates, helping their teachers, being kind, and demonstrating leadership! Way to go Pandas!

Centers, Centers, and More Centers!
Center based learning is a great way for our students to learn and review skills and concepts! From Preschool to second grade, centers occur in all classrooms across the curriculum!

First Grade Math Work Stations!
Work stations are a great way to work both independently or with peers to investigate and practice mathematical concepts from the Bridges program.

What are Communities?
Second graders learned about different types of communities this week. They wrote about and illustrated examples of urban, rural, and suburban communities and their final products look great!

Writers Workshop!
Mrs. Capobianco's class began Writers Workshop this week. They brainstormed a list of topics to write about. They came up with TONS of great ideas! The students then shared and discussed their lists with a classmate to help decide what they would write about first! Mrs. Capobianco modeled the writing process by sharing a story about her frisky cats with the class!

Enjoy a Good Book!
Preschoolers in Miss Donna's class curled up on the rug with a good book!

Sentence Clubhouse Creators!
Ms. Ventre introduced her class to an online game that practices the four sentence types! Correct answers help to construct a clubhouse with the different parts chosen by the students! They definitely know their sentence types and made a wonderful clubhouse in the process!

Second Grade Get Acquainted Night!
Our final parent night of the year was a success! Thank you to the second grade team and the many parents that came out to meet the teachers and explore our classrooms!

Dot Day 2018!
We gathered together on Friday to "make our mark" as we celebrated International Dot Day! This day celebrates The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. This story celebrates the themes of bravery, creativity, and standing tall! We gathered as a learning community to read and discuss the book as well as sing a song written about the story. Students then worked throughout the day on many projects and activities that were "dot" themed. Many even wore their finest dots to school!

Dot Day Buddies!
Mrs. Capobianco's class and Mrs. Dever-David's class are buddies and used their time together this week to create some AWESOME dots!

Leaping Letters!
Preschoolers and Kindergarteners are working hard to learn and review their letters!

The Power of YET!
Mrs. Eaton's class became superheroes as they thought about what they can do and what they can't do....YET! They have great aspirations for this coming year, and with hard work, I know they can achieve everything they're planning!

We All Have Feelings!
Mrs. Hanegan's class read a Scholastic News all about feelings this week! They even learned some strategies if they feel sad or nervous at school!

Movin' & Groovin'!
We can all use a movement every once in a while. Go Noodle videos are often used to give students the chance to dance and move between lessons. This week, students even enjoyed singing and dancing to The Dot Song.

Sprinkling Kindness!
Mrs. Wright's class created some yummy donuts with various ways that they can sprinkle kindness. Way to go!
